VHS to DVD– SAVE YOUR MEMORIES!

Why is it so important to transfer your memories to DVD or CD? A few years ago we started gathering photos and videos for a Wedding Reception video. We were fortunate enough to be guests in our clients home.. and started “digging” through her video collection. She was so organized.. had all of her vhs tapes labeled and stored away nicely in a storage cabinet in a back room. We were thrilled.. this was going to be so easy! When we started pulling the videos out of the cabinet we started noticing that “dirt” was falling out of some of the cassettes. Some type of insect had gotten inside the storage cabinet and started building condos in these cassettee tapes. Many of the tapes were destroyed beyond repair, and she simply had to throw them away. We were able to salvage some of the tapes.. by beating the tapes until we got all of the “dirt” out of the reels. As expected our client was devestated by this event. Many of her precious memories.. childbirths, birthday parties, family reunions, first day of school, etc were lost forever. We quickly snatched up all of the vhs tapes that were worth saving and offered to transfer them to dvd for her.. free of charge. (We had to do something to help with the sorrow that she was feeling!)
